Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Viridian Business Solutions ("we," "us," or the "site"), the operator of TaskReminder.org, collects, uses, and shares information when you use the site. Viridian Business Solutions is based in Oregon, USA.

1. Information we collect

  • Reminder details. The task text, email address, and reminder frequency you submit through the form.
  • Technical data. Standard log information such as IP address, browser type, device, referring pages, and pages visited, collected automatically by our hosting provider.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. Used for basic site function and, with your consent, for advertising and measurement.

We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, health information, or other categories treated as "sensitive data" under US state privacy laws.

2. How we use information

  • To send the reminder emails you request.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the site.
  • To display advertisements and measure their performance (only if you consent).
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Email reminders and CAN-SPAM

We only send email to addresses submitted through our reminder form, and only for the purpose of delivering the reminders that address requested. Every reminder email includes a one-click "Completed" link that stops all future emails for that reminder, and an "Edit" link to change the task, email, or cadence. Our physical postal address is included in every email as required by the US CAN-SPAM Act. To stop all further email from us, click "Completed" in any reminder or contact us at the address below; we will honor opt-outs within 10 business days.

4. Cookies and third-party advertising

This site uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies keep the site working. Advertising and analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time using .

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. See also Google's advertising policies and Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Sharing and "sale" of personal information

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, the use of third-party advertising cookies (such as Google AdSense) may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising under some US state privacy laws, including the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, and other states. You can opt out of this by rejecting non-essential cookies in our cookie banner or by using . We also honor recognized universal opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where browsers send them.

Otherwise, we share information only with service providers that help us operate the site — hosting, database, and email delivery — and only as needed to provide the service, or when required by law or to protect our rights.

6. Your Oregon (OCPA) and other US state privacy rights

If you are a resident of Oregon, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information and access it;
  • Obtain a copy of personal information you provided to us;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;

  • Opt out of targeted advertising, "sale," or "sharing";
  • Under Oregon law, obtain a list of specific third parties (or, at our option, all third parties) to which we have disclosed personal data;
  • Appeal a denial of a privacy request (we will respond within 45 days of the appeal).

To exercise these rights, email privacy@taskreminder.org from the address associated with your reminders. We will respond within 45 days as required by the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (ORS 646A.570 et seq.). We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

7. Data retention

We keep reminder records for as long as needed to deliver your reminders. Completed or cancelled reminders are retained for a limited period for operational and abuse-prevention purposes and then deleted. You can stop and delete a reminder at any time by clicking "Completed" in any email or emailing us.

8. Children (COPPA)

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
